The world’s largest gaming and entertainment site IGN briefed us to extend the story of Vulcan Reborn into an online experience, to promote the launch of the latest Star Trek video game from Namco Bandai Games and Paramount. Our solution was to work across 12 territories, and drive wider campaign goals internationally.
An isometric (top-down, three-dimensional) map-based browser game, challenging players with a different mission each day. This month-long campaign, directed by Will and the team at Harkable, developed a prequel narrative leading into the story of the console video game it was promoting.
Players were rewarded with game points and spot prizes for completing campaign goals such as watching the game trailer, sharing it and pre-ordering. At the culmination of the month, the player who had attained the most prosperity in the game won a home cinema and gaming system.
